Ibiza airport (also know as Sant Jordi Airport) is one of the top ten busiest airports in Spain with over 5 million passengers passing through the airport every year. The airport is the main airport that services the Balearic island of Ibiza and also the island of Formentera.

The airport is actually located just 7 klms from the centre of Ibiza town itself which makes it very easy to reach many of the more popular holiday resorts on the island. The has the largest percentage of its passenger traffic throughout the Summer months when tourists descend on the island to enjoy the sun and famous party atmosphere of the island.

Getting To And From Ibiza Airport
Transfer to and from Ibiza airport is very easy and due to the large volume of passenger traffic throughout the year, there is a very efficient Ground Support network in place. Passengers arriving and departing from Ibiza airport have a choice of transport to get to and from the airport.
Buses From Ibiza Airport
There are regular bus services that run from the airport to several destination on the island. This is one of the cheapest options for passengers regarding transfer to and from the airport, especially if you are travelling alone or on a limited budget.
Ibiza Airport To Ibiza Town By Bus
Bus number 10 operates from the airport and connects passengers from the airport to the town of Ibiza and the ferry port. During the Summer months, the buses run every 15 minutes and then through the Winter months, the buses run every 30 minutes.
Buses From Ibiza Airport To San Antonio
During the peak Summer months the bus number 9 runs from Ibiza airport to the town of San José and the resort of San Antonio and from San Antonio and San José to Ibiza airport. This service only runs from the beginning of June until the end of September and runs every hour throughout the day.
Buses From Ibiza Airport To Sant Eularia and Cala Nova.
Throughout the Summer months of June and September the bus service number 24 connects passengers from Ibiza airport to the resorts of Sant Eularia and Cala Nova.
Taxis From Ibiza Airport
There are official taxis that operate from outside the terminal building. Taxi fares are determined by the distance travelled and it is always advisable to ask the driver how much the fare will be before you actually get in the taxi.
Please note that there are two different rates for taxis and they are the day rate and the night rate. The day rate is between 07.00am and 21.00pm and the night rate is between 21.00pm and 07.00am. On Saturday and Bank holidays, the night rate is from 15.00pm.
There are taxis available at the airport that have been specially adapted for people with reduced mobility.

One of the more popular choices for transfer from the airport is car hire. Car hire from Ibiza airport is relatively cheap and it provides independence from the moment you arrive at the airport. Ibiza Airport Arrivals
As with any International airport, passengers are required to follow certain security procedures that are in place at the airport. Upon arriving at Ibiza airport, passengers are required to clear security before they can enter the main arrivals hall. If you have checked in Hold luggage for your flight, you will need to collect your luggage from the ‘Baggage Reclaim’ area. There are several carousels in the Baggage Reclaim area and each flight arrival at Ibiza airport is allocated a carousel. Once you have reclaimed your luggage, you can make your way through to the main Arrivals area at the airport.

Any passenger wishing to fly from Ibiza airport will first need to Check-In for their flight. This can be done in several different ways either by using one of the Check-In desks at the airport or by Checking-In for the flight online (if applicable). The Check-In area at Ibiza airport is on the Ground floor and the Departures Gates are on the first floor. Passengers are advised to arrive at the airport at least 2 hours before their departure time to allow time to clear Security.
